Privacy and your data
Last updated 3 November 2026
Curatron is an open-call platform where artists apply to exhibitions and select each other's work. This page explains what we keep about you, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do.
Who is responsible
Curatron is run by Platform Gallery 010101 AB (org. no. 559331-6747), Lövholmsgränd 12, Stockholm, Sweden. Questions and requests: info@curatroneq.com.
What we keep
- Your account: email address, password (stored by our login provider as a one-way code that nobody can read), and when you joined.
- Your profile: first and last name, gender, country of birth and country of residence, and, if you give them, date of birth, phone number, website, artist statement and an image of your work.
- Your open calls: which exhibitions you applied to, which works you were shown and which you selected in each selection round, the stars you gave other artists, and whether you were selected.
- Emails: which emails from Curatron were sent to you and whether they arrived.
- Security: if you confirm a browser with an emailed code, a scrambled copy of that browser's key, so we recognise it next time.
Why we keep it
- To run the open calls you take part in: your application, the selection round, the results and the emails about them. Without this we cannot provide the service you signed up for.
- Gender and countries: to track biases in who applies and who is selected, and to balance them out. This is our legitimate interest in fair selection.
- Research into the selection method: we study applications and selections with names and contact details removed. Anyone doing this work is bound by a confidentiality agreement. This too is our legitimate interest in fair selection.
- News about Curatron: we sometimes email Curatron users about new open calls. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
Who can see what
- Other artists in the same open call see your name, image, artist statement, website, country of residence and how many stars you have received, while they make their selection.
- If you are selected for an exhibition, your name and website are published on that exhibition's page as part of the result. This is part of taking part in an open call; the profile setting about artist listings does not change it.
- Which works you selected, and whom you gave stars to, are never shown to other artists. Only the Curatron staff who run the open calls can see them.
- Curatron staff can see your whole profile, in order to run the service.
- Nobody else. We do not sell your data, and we use no advertising or tracking.
Services that handle your data for us
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | database, logins, images | Ireland (EU) |
| Render | the server that runs Curatron | Frankfurt (EU) |
| Vercel | delivers the website's pages | USA |
| Postmark | sends Curatron's emails | USA |
| Vimeo | the two films on the home page | USA |
Vercel, Postmark and Vimeo are US companies, so some data, such as your email address or your browser's internet address, is handled in the USA under their data-protection terms.
Your browser
Curatron stores two things in your browser: your login and, if you confirmed this browser with an emailed code, its key. Both are needed for the site to work. We set no tracking or advertising cookies. The films on the home page are played by Vimeo, which may set its own cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and its history until you ask us to delete it. Exhibition results, meaning who was selected for which exhibition, are kept as the record of that exhibition.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of everything we hold about you, in a form you can take elsewhere;
- correct anything that is wrong (you can change most of it yourself on your profile page);
- delete your account and your data;
- limit how we use your data, or stop using it for research or news;
- take back any consent you gave, at any time.
Email info@curatroneq.com from the address on your account. We answer without delay, and within one month at the latest. If you think we are not handling your data correctly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect.
